The symphonic orchestra of Sint-Niklaas was formed in 1987. From the start, they played with famous artists like Mischa Maisky, Anneleen Lenaerts (2014), Yossif Ivanov (2015) and Frank Braley (2017, for the fifth time).
The orchestra is led by Kris and Pieter Matthynssens. For many years now, the orchestra is also known for playing compositions of young contemporary composers. In 2012, they premiered Vladimir Gorlinksy’s Paramusic #2.
I’ve been playing the violin in the orchestra since September 2012. In 2016, I played the piano/celesta part of Lars Petter Hagen’s Kunstnerens fortvilelse foran de antikke fragmenters storhet. In 2017, I played the piano part of Marquez’s Danzon no.2 and percussion in Die Eisengießerei of Mosolov.
